LIBERIAN MINISTRIES

Go into all the world and preach the Gospel to every creature.

Mark 16:15

Who We Are

Located in Sinoe County, Liberia, we are a team of Christians in America and Liberia who have joined together for the sole purpose of reaching the nation of Liberia for Jesus. We focus primarily on educating, training, and caring for children through our orphanage, school, and church.

Shadrach Saywon, along with his wife Gertrude, who are from Liberia, founded Liberian Ministries in 2004. Together, they operate the ministry in Liberia by serving as the principals of the school, the caretakers of the orphanage, and the Pastor and Pastor's wife of the church.

The church meets once a week for adults and children. While some of the church family lives nearby in the bush, others will walk for miles. We are doing our part in the Great Commission by making disciples. Every few years we host crusades, where hundreds of men, women, and children will come from great distances to learn God's Word. We also travel to some of the most remote areas to share the Gospel to the nation of Liberia.

What We Do

We operate the Willie N. Wylie Memorial Baptist Children's Village, where children are provided with clothing, food, education, and housing at the orphanage. Currently, there are 750 children at the school. The orphanage is a much needed outreach to the children of Sinoe County. Children are brought to the orphanage because their parents cannot take care of them, parents have died, and/or reasons are unknown as there is no record of their parent at all. Caring for the least of these is what we do, and we can say that it is making a difference!
