Jeffrey Amerson
Lead Pastor
Lead Pastor Jeffrey is a lifelong resident of Bonifay and life member of Gully Springs Baptist Church. He graduated from Holmes County High School in 2004 and attended Chipola College. After college, he worked as a PCT then an EMT at the local hospital and a private family practice office. During this time, he met the love of his life, Tayler, and the two were married the following July. Jeffrey and Tayler started their ministry by working in the children's department at GSBC. Leading children's church and teaching AWANAS led to their eventual transition to Youth Pastors.
While working and teaching, Jeffrey pursued a career as a Physician's Assistant and graduated from the University of West Florida with a Bachelor of Science. Between working fulltime and fulfilling church and schooling responsibilities, Jeffrey was diagnosed with chronic kidney disease--something that he was born with as a result of being born seven weeks early. Because of the progression of the disease, he returned to college and obtained his Masters in Public Health. Afterward, he began working with infectious diseases in Tallahassee; however, the long distance and stress led to the shutting down of his kidneys, which resulted in the start of dialysis in 2018.
During this time, Gully Springs was experiencing a shift in leadership, so Jeffrey stepped in to fill the role of lead pastor. He was officially voted in by the church soon after. In November of 2021, Jeffrey received a kidney transplant. When asked about his life verse, he cited Philippians 4:13--"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." All that Pastor Jeffrey has been through has taught him that he can lean on God for everything.

He spent approximately four years in the funeral business, and he then transitioned into law enforcement. While employed with the Holmes County Sheriff's Office, he served as Dispatcher, Road Deputy, and School Resource Deputy at Bethlehem School. During this time, Joey was able to gain a humbling perspective of our community and gradually built meaningful connections with the people of Holmes County. He currently works at his family's business, Environmental Manufacturing & Supply, Inc.
Joey is married to Alisha--better known to most as Sally--who has served as an English teacher in Holmes County for approximately ten years. Joey and Sally both have served as leaders of the Media and Tech Department, and on April 24, 2022, Joey was officially ordained as a Minister of the Gospel and Associate Pastor at GSBC. Gully Springs is thankful to have someone in leadership to assist Lead Pastor Jeffrey and who can envision the full potential of the church. Joey has always maintained that we are called to love as God has loved us--with an unconditional, everlasting love.

Kim Drummond
Worship Leader
Kim was born in Defuniak Springs, Florida, and grew up in Bonifay. She graduated from Holmes County High School, and Gully Springs has always been her home church. Although she was raised in church, she didn’t surrender her life to the Lord until she was in her late 20s. Since then, her relationship with Christ has only caused her love for music to grow. It has become a way for her to express her love for Him--a way to lift Him up, exalt Him, magnify Him, and give Him the honor He is due. Kim maintains that as we lift up our voices in honor and praise, we usher in the very presence of God. Her prayer is that His Spirit fills her in such a way that it produces an overflow of His abundant mercy and grace and that He will kindle a fire causing sparks that spread like a wildfire.
She and her husband, Dan, have been married for eighteen years. Dan is from Jasper, Alabama, and is a vital part of the worship team. Together they have four children and eight wonderful grandchildren. Through their passion for music and sharing their faith and testimony through song, God has opened many doors for them to minister to many people from all walks of life. Kim had a solo ministry and recorded a CD with some of her favorite songs. Dan sang with a Blue Grass group that made several recordings. After they married, they continued to sing, only together as One Heart. They were privileged to sing on the Lady Anderson and share the stage with some great talents such as The Nelsons, Michael English, Wes Hampton, and David Ring. Kim explained that the greatest blessing during that time was ministering at the local nursing homes. The residents were always hungry for the universal language of music, and the songs encouraged them, lifted their spirits, and told them about the love of Jesus.
Serving at Gully Springs as the Worship Leader is a new and very challenging experience that Kim absolutely loves. When asked about this role, she expressed that she is extremely thankful that God has allowed her the privilege of doing what she loves, for the One she loves, with those that she loves.
“And He hath put a new song in my mouth; even praise unto our God; many shall see it and fear, and shall trust in the Lord.” -Psalm 40:3
